Tirade on Vaccine Mandates and the Lies Our Governments Told Us

Governments need to own up to the deceitful divisive narrative they pushed on vaccines

It is clear that COVID 19 policies and restrictions that governments imposed on Canadians had damaging effects on our society, that will be felt for many years to come. But their vaccine policies, which first began by urging and incentivizing people to get the jab and then evolved into a mandate, were by far the worst. Not just because they trampled on human rights and ignored the very real elements of informed consent when it comes to personal health issues, but because the entire vaccine campaign and the mandates were based on lies. Now, that the dust has settled those same governments are trying to say that—‘well yes, mistakes were made because we were dealing with a ‘novel virus’ and the science was changing quickly, so we had to make decisions, based on what we knew, in the moment, because lives were at stake,’—that too is a lie. They knew what they knew about the virus very early on in the pandemic and they still chose to lie. 

They used lies to coerce people into taking the shot, even before they mandated it–something they had said earlier that they never would do–another lie. And regardless of what our Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says, it was a mandate, for most Canadians, because without a vaccine ‘passport' people couldn’t travel on planes, trains or buses, nor could they go to a restaurant or a gym and many other public spaces–so another lie from the king of untruths. People faced losing their jobs if they refused to get the jab, and in many cases they did, now tell me again that no one was forced. Our leaders used and abused their positions of power, their social media platforms and their legacy media to urge, to encourage and even shame their citizens into getting vaccinated. They accused others of spreading misinformation and disinformation if they so much as questioned anything about the vaccines, when it was they who were spreading untruths. That is the highest form of gaslighting– accusing your opponents of doing what you, yourself, are actually doing.

Throughout the pandemic our governments needlessly sowed the seeds of social polarization, threw democratic principles under the bus, seriously damaged scientific and medical integrity, and forever eroded public trust in government, the media and many other institutions. Our governments, with their legacy media minions in lockstep, as well as many scientific and medical ‘experts’ and pundents set ethical considerations aside to concoct an erroneous narrative about the transmission, risk, and the nature of the virus–all of which were deliberately exaggerated. This led many trusting and perhaps naive Canadians to accept and even demand power abuses from our governments that promised safety and security, and our governments were more than happy to oblige.

With the vaccine mandates this further morphed into a false moralizing narrative that denied Canadians their basic freedoms and bodily autonomy. Yet there was no public debate on this, the legacy media did not, ever once, question the need for the mandates and the lockdowns and the continuing infringement on our freedoms. Not even when the Freedom Convoy began its journey across Canada and parked its trucks on the government’s doorstep in Ottawa demanding an end to the mandates–did a single member of the media give pause to think convoy members just might have a valid point?  Instead they, as usual, carried water for Trudeau and reinforced his own condemnation of the truckers as right wing activists, racists and anti-vaxxers and many Canadians fell for this propaganda and also condemned them. It was all a lie. 

And as I said, they did this–meaning the government and the media–when they knew what they knew very early on in the pandemic from statistics gathered after the first wave in the spring of 2020. They knew that bad clinical outcomes from COVID, were largely based on age and comorbidity– the very elderly often suffering from ailments such as Alzheimers, dementia, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. In all likelihood many of those that fell victim to COVID had very little time left on earth as it was. The real tragedy for them was that many died alone, as draconian COVID restrictions did not allow their families to be with them in their final hours. They also knew that most people under the age of 65, if they died of COVID, or became very ill, also had serious comorbidities, and that one of the most common ones was obesity.

Once the vaccines were introduced–even before they were mandated–it quickly became clear that they did not durably stop transmission, since any effectiveness they did have waned after a few months–hence the boosters. There was also no guarantee that the vaccines would be effective once the virus mutated, which it did with every new wave of the pandemic. And while they knew that mRNA vaccines were causing myocarditis, particularly in young men, they did not halt the use of these vaccines on younger age groups as they did when they discovered blood clot problems with the AstraZeneca* vaccine. They also knew just months after the initial vaccine rollouts, that people were suffering serious, and in some cases, debilitating vaccine injuries and they chose to cover that up as well. 

*Health Canada halted the use of AstraZeneca on youunger age cohorts because they determined the risk of taking the vaccine was greater than their risked of having a a bad outome from COVID. Yet it did not do this for the mRNA vaccines.

They also knew that prior infection of the virus did, in fact, provide better protection against reinfection than the vaccines, but diminished this fact and still pushed the vaccines.They used their henchmen–the legacy media– to prime the population with government propaganda urging everyone to go out and get the shot. They used fear, with their grim daily announcements of rising case numbers and death statistics, but without context–they seldom mentioned the fact that most deaths were in the very elderly and that case numbers were simply positive tests using a testing method that was seriously flawed and often produced false positives. It was all theatre.

They followed this up with coercive and deceitful messaging reinforcing a strong moral narrative: “everyone is at equal risk,” “no one is safe until everyone is safe,” ‘if you don’t get the shot you may infect and kill someone else, like grandma, or “no death from COVID is acceptable.” and finally, ‘the vaccine is the only way out of the pandemic–out of lockdowns, out of mask mandates, and all COVID restrictions’. Except that didn’t happen–the lockdowns continued and as did the further curtailment of freedoms– despite the fact that 70 percent of Canadians over the age of 18 had already received two doses and nearly 90 percent of the over 60 crowd were fully vaccinated. 

Government messaging in this area blamed the unvaccinated for contributing to any rise in COVID cases, thus further dividing Canadians–and shaming those who refused to get the shot. There were two camps–the selfless virtuous rule followers and the stupid selfish COVIDiots. Those who deviated or questioned the official COVID narratives were viewed as a threat to public health and the social fabric and in many cases were silenced and even jailed. Yet, it was these people who actually saw through the lies and they should be applauded for their courage and tenacity, rather than derided. Still, we have seen no public apology or admission, on the part of our government, and the mainstream media for promulgating false information (lies) or for vilifying and delegitimizing and even dehumanizing those that disagreed with their policies, their narratives or their mandates when it came to vaccines and COVID restrictions.

Lies were told. Those lies stifled open public discourse, divided Canadians, and tore at the very fabric of our society. Those lies were directly contrary to the evidence, evidence they knew as they spun their deceitful narratives. In a democracy, and I believe Canada still is one, for the moment, or indeed in any ethical free society, the truth is critical. Canadians need to hear the truth, they deserve the truth—the facts, free from the political distortions, the blame game, misrepresentations, and censorship. They also need questions answered such as how many Canadians lost their jobs or even careers because of vaccine mandates?  How many university students lost terms or semesters because of mandates. How many now regret getting vaccinated under threat? How many people suffered serious vaccine injuries? 

But the first step must be to clearly state the harsh truth in the starkest possible terms. Now if they ever do this, which is a long shot–they are likely to try to drag out that old trope–that being that while they knew what they were doing was misleading and dishonest, they only did it for what they saw as the greater good. Don’t believe that either, it's just another lie.
