Why subscribe?
As a tribute to my Nordic heritage I’ve dubbed my Substack, the Intrepid Viking, a warrior exploring the issues of this crazy new world. As a former journalist and writer, who has served with the Canadian Armed Forces as an army Public Affairs Officer, and with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as an Emergency Management Senior Planning Analyst (Civilian Member-Retired), I have witnessed what I see as disturbing changes in our world. I guess I have to describe it as ‘wokeism’, gone rampant, and from it arises issues I want to examine to ferret out the craziness from the mismangaed response to the pandemic to the extremist views and narratives that have infected everything from the climate change narrative to transgenderism. We live in a world now where if your belief or opinion doesn’t fit whatever narrative the ‘woke’ activists or legacy media that promote them, have conjured up, then its ‘misinformation’ or cancellation. In last few years, I have found what they call ‘misinformation’ carries more truth than the narrative the ‘woke’ world is trying to sell us in everything from COVID to climate change and the idea that men can be women. In what I write, I hope to be a warrior battling through the lies and weird ‘woke’ narratives to shine a light on some sanity and truth.

In addition to my weekly or biweekly articles, I have also introduced my first newsletter, The Coronus Virus Chronicles, which is an anthology of pieces I wrote as I observed the pandemic response unfolding in very disturbing and unconstitutional phases over two years. In addition to my one or two weekly articles on various subjects challenging what I see as a the very dangerous aspects of the woke ideology, I plan to add more newsletters ranging from everything something as simple as recipes that I love, to individual pieces on how those of us, who are awake, rather than woke, might be able to survive this tsunami, by listening to the lessons of history.
