I would have loved to be a fly on the wall with their meeting last night at Trumps house. Trump obviously does not like Trudeau. Trudeau and his ministers have made so many derogotary attacks on the "Maga" movement in the past few years that Trump surely saw this. Remember David Lametti being interviewed on CTV during the Freedom convoy how he said that antyone associated with the "maga" movement should be very worried about their bank accounts, etc.
There have been many attacks on anything "MAGA" by other ministers and backbenchers of the Liberals. In hundsight this was really dumb on their parts as now they have to negotiate with the "MAGA" king who is obviously not going to be impressed and can do a lot of damage to this country.
I wonder if Trump could have some influence on the fate of many of the Convoy organizers, etc who are being subject to lawfare? Perhaps indirectly he could but practically probably not. Trump did make a nice speech supporting the truckers back in 2022 but doubt its an issue for him now. We can all hope.
I think the picture of the dinner speaks for itself. You have Trudeau and Trump sitting side by side, but Telford and LeBlanc kind of cordoned off, like an island unto themselves at the tale. Trump in making the post doesn’t say something like — oh I don’t — “how happy to have the Prime Minister of Canada join us for dinner. Instead he just says they have a surprise guest for dinner. That I think speaks volumes. One of the guests at the table Mike Waltz, Trump’s National Security Advisor has posted on X that he can hardly wait to see Trudeau booted out of office by Poilievre, so that’s got to be fun.
Later back at the hotel Trudeau dodged reporters to go hide in his room with his entourage. The next day he skipped by reporters only to say very quickly the meeting went well. I am sure once he is back with his Liberal friendly media in Canada he will have all kinds of wonderful bullshit about his visit. And yes, Trudeau and all his ministers have had great fun Trump bashing convinced he would never be president again, sometimes there is karma.

I think President Trump's description of the meeting as "very productive" is very telling. It's a euphemism for "I read him the riot act and he knows I mean business. Fix the border, security and drug problems or face the dire consequences." I just hope it means that Trudeau II will take his walk in the snow sooner, rather than later. If so, thank you President Trump for a productive meeting indeed.
