Expecting the CBC to provide fair and balanced reporting on anything is a mute point. Their 'investigative reporting' is somewhat suspect given the fact they failed miserably at providing any backstreet on the men to the level you have. AND because they and the RCMP are on Trudy's payroll, they're not going to ruffle any feathers. The CBC revels in stirring up crap to keep Trudeau/Singh's 'sheeple' safe in the barnyard of broken dreams.

I lost all respect for the RCMP long ago and ire was worsened when that prick on a horse stomped on the woman at the 'convoy' in Ottawa; i then saw a brief video of this same arrogant prick laughing about it whilst having a pint with his mates. Then there's today's BUREAU article uncovering MORE shameful dirt on the RCMP! My question is WHERE was/IS Amnesty International in regards to the outstanding CRUELTY that's happened to these men (and countless others) in our corrections system? It IS SO BAD that just like some cops, corrections officers are either hiding their psychopathy until they're hired OR others become sociopaths from being in these abusive environments for too long. The differentiation between the two mental maladies is important to note. In any case, our systems of policing, governance, and media are beyond broken, which is a seriously bad reflection on our society today.

All so true. I read Sam Coopers report on the BUREAU today and it is frightening. As for Amnesty International like most NGOs it leans left, thus the trials and tribulations of people they view as being on the wrong... meaning the right side of the political spectrum are not worth their time or trouble... or their money. Just look at the NGOs corruption laid bare with Musk's opening the books at USAID. Disgusting.

The similarities between Jan 6 and the convoy are eerily similar in that innocent protesters spent time in jail yet committed no crime. In Ottawa the truckers violated a parking bylaw and a noise bylaw which at the time were about 50$ per offence. The real criminals were the liberals for stopping the bylaw officers and Ottawa police from towing the trucks after a few days. Liberals staged and prodded attempting a simulated Jan 6, it culminated in the Emergencies Act . The protest at Coutts didn’t get the same publicity as Ottawa so the liberals had an easier time staging a violent insurrection scam. The criminal justice system here like the USA is just an arm of the Liberal Party. Those charged and sent to jail are political prisoners it is that simple. Eerily like Cuba.

Like the USA our leader was forced to resign and is being replaced by an unelected similar stooge as Kamala. Like the USA the Canadian version of fake news CBCNN is extolling how incredibly talented the Carbon Tax Carney stooge will be.

Unlike the USA no one can pardon our political prisoners. Unlike the USA our system of government really has no constitution, aka the Withstanding clause and unequal representation of the West in Confederation. So standby for more of the same.

Eerily being eerily maybe it’s time to throw in the towel, complete the circle and join our neighbours, as soon as Alberta looks like it has had enough I’m moving there to cash in my Canadian Peso’s

I feel much the same way. It is like we are trapped in this Liberal Party of corruption, culpability and communist leanings and absolutely no accountability. I guess everyone should have taken Justin seriously when he expressed how much he admired the 'basic dictatorship of China'. Because his policies and behaviours make it clear that he does, as does how the recent inquiry into foreign interference in Canada and its election has scrub any such infiltration clean and simply a figment of our imaginations and too much 'misinformation'.

Roxanne, a good article that exposes the weaponization of the police and courts against the public that have a right to protest the government.

My opinion is that the Coutts protest was amplified by the RCMP at the request of Trudeau to justify his implementing the “Emergencies Act”. Maybe down the road a whistle blower will come forward to expose all. A Trumpian style cleansing of our bureaucrats, police and courts is required !

Looking forward to part 2.

We can always hope, but alas we have no Trump. Elon, however is a Canadian as well as a US citizen, perhaps when he is finished the cleansing of the deep state in the US he can give his Canadian brothers and sisters a hand. As for Coutts, it us pretty clear the RCMP at the behest of the Commissioner Brenda Lucki definitely cooked this up for Trudeau so he could have his January 6th. The documents released in the Hate Gate report provide a pretty good paper trail to support this, from which I put together an article on the matter and the POEC's ruling justifying the invocation of the EMA.https://roxannehalverson.substack.com/p/is-the-poec-freedom-convoy-ruling.

The thing is there is already plenty of evidence pointing to RCMP shenanigans as I would call it -- however until any mainstream media pick it up and expose it things will remain as they are. It would have been nice if the Fifth Estate had decided this was the real story behind the 'Coutts Conspiracy' but instead they made a documentary to fit the Trudeau government's narrative and thus prop up their rationale for invoking the EMA, despite the fact that a Federal Court has ruled invoking it was unconstitutional -- of which an appeal on by the Trudeau government, is currently underway.

The CBC doesn’t get paid to report the truth about corruption in our institutions. They know what their job is and they’re good at it. Keep it up Roxanne 👍. We need voices of truth.

Trudeau is using the Trump annexation threat as a political opportunity and lifeline to suddenly become Canada’s saviour revising all past Liberal policies. Now it will be OK to produce and ship oil to whoever wants it completely reversing the Liberal policies of the past 9 years. Trudeau and Carney to follow are total frauds. They’re flip flop liars just as bad as Jagmet Singh. Totally unbelievable.

It's disgusting to know that these men were treated much worse than most hardened criminals in Canada. Isn't solidary confinement considered torture these days? Congrats on another excellent expose, Roxanne!

Excellent report.....what was done to these men as a result of the illegal mandates and Tyranny of Justin Trudope and Jason Kenney was horrible.

Can't imagine how hard it would be to be in that situation.....sad part is that most Canadians don't care.

There are a handful of people who continue to want accountability for the injustices and crimes the government imposed during the SCAMDEMIC.

If the so called conservatives and Christians stood up in support of these men and anyone else who were persecuted for standing up to the tyrants under the Charter of Rights etc. there might be some accountability for the abuses and lies that were committee by our politicians, health officials, bureaucrats and law enforcement and Main Stream Media.

These men paid a high price for standing for what is right

Looking forward to Part 2. I spent many days sitting in the court room during bail hearings, pre-trial and then the actual trial for these four men, listening to our corrupt Justice System.

We are fighting our own battle with the same three liberal appointed crowns.

I have followed the plight of these men for well over two years now and the corruption in their cases seems to know no bounds. While it’s no big surprise that the CBC didn’t expose what was done to them, none of the other mainstream media did either. One might have thought the Sun papers might have picked it up, but nope. Nor, for that matter did independent media, Outlets like the Western Standard, True North Media, Countersignal barely touched it, and Rebel News jumped on board late in the game. Mocha was the lone reporter. If the media, had done their job, and held the police, the courts and the government to account, perhaps the story of these men might have been quite different.

Mocha was amazing, he was in that courtroom room everyday.

How the hell do the CBC get to broadcast police interrogations? (And selectively edit them). Isn’t that hugely privileged?

Expand full comment

One would think, wouldn’t you. Strangely enough, when I watched what they showed I didn’t find much of what was said to be very incriminating and the guys certainly didn’t come off as this ‘hardened cell of criminals’ that the real criminal former Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino described them at the POEC. All of them looked confused and tired. Tony was a bit to trusting and talkative… which is probably why he is jail. And the take down, that the CBC dramatically tells us they have exclusive footage of isn’t dramatic at all. There’s no guns blazing… Chris Carbert comes out and give himself up. It is my understanding he was asleep in his trailer at the time, as he had gone to bed early because he wasn’t feeling well. So as you can guess, Part 2 of my assessment of the CBC report will be less than flattering.
