I'd hate to be the accountant in a business trying to sort this lot out at year end. Inventory bought at prices that include HST; HST then reclaimed as an input on the purchase; now the business goes to sell the item after Dec 14, and it is HST exempt. Now what? No tax to be accounted for? An accounting nightmare. Should keep CRA busy for a while.

How much longer do we have to suffer under these idiots?

If Jameet Singh would grow a spine and a moral compass they could bring down the government tomorrow, but he won’t.

Pigs would fly before that would happen. It’s a physical impossibility for a jellyfish to grow a spine.

The devil is in the details. Your detailing of the eye-rolling distinctions that separate the tax-exempt from that which is tax-worthy will have historians debating for decades. Another "can't see the forest for the trees" policy of this Liberal government. Words fail me...

One has to ask why oh why. Like I said, would have Canadians appreciated taking the GST off heating fuel for two months and gas. By removing it from heating they would have double savings given they add the GST on after they’ve added the carbon tax.

If You’re Not a Liberal at 20 You Have No Heart. If You’re Not a Conservative by 30 You Have No Brain -Edmund Burke

I’ve always said, it is easy to be socialist when you have earned very little, such as is the case for 20 year olds, but once most have reached their 30s have worked hard for what they have aren’t so hot on giving half of it away to the government, no less, to decide who they will spend it on and how. And more often than not, it is not their friends and themselves.

The saddest thing about it and our democracy is that fifty-one percent, or more, of the voting population are so stupid they will think this is just fucking fine and dandy.

Apparently not, a new survey says most Canadians are not falling for this tax trick or anymore of Trudeau’s bullshit. That said, you are right, our voting system allows for the Liberals to win time and again when they get far less of the popular vote than the Conservatives. After having followed the US elections and gaining an understanding of the Electoral College system I think that is what we need in Canada. In the US without the Electoral College, the states of New York and California by virtue of their size left leanings would the next president in every election. That is pretty much what we have here in Canada, Ontario and Quebec deciding who our next PM will be regardless of how the rest of the country votes. The Electoral College system evens things out so that less populated states have an actual say in who gets to be president.

Stupid is a mean word. But % of people in a survey vs the total eligible voters. Number different.
